N.E.W. Community Clinic Behavioral Health and Mental Wellness

N.E.W. Community clinic offers evidence based, comprehensive behavioral health care services for individuals 4 years of age and older, who are uninsured, underinsured, or experiencing homelessness. Services include individual outpatient therapy, couples/family therapy, and psychiatric medication management. We also provide outreach mental health services throughout Green Bay, in collaboration with community partners, which include individual therapy and medication management.

N.E.W. Community Clinic behavioral health care providers are trained to evaluate and treat children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with sadness, anxiety, stress, anger, attention and concentration problems, eating disorders, mood disorders, dementia/cognitive decline due to age, grief, co-occurring substance use, and other problems.

Katie Patterson

Dr. Katie Patterson

PsyD, LPC, NCC
Director of Behavioral Health Services

Dr. Patterson is a licensed clinical psychologist and earned her Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from California Southern University. She also received her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Dr. Patterson is a trained Brainspotting Practitioner and also uses Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)/Tapping, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and person-centered therapy modalities. Dr. Patterson values the use of a multi-modal therapy approach to effectively address the specific needs of each client.

Dr. Patterson is passionate about helping individuals enhance personal well-being and overall mental health. She emphasizes the importance of a collaborative therapeutic relationship to promote change and growth. Dr. Patterson believes that by helping the client identify and process emotional, behavioral, and environmental barriers, the client will learn valuable skills to better cope with life stressors.

Dr. Patterson specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and has experience working with mood disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and dual diagnosis. She has experience working in varying levels of care, including PHP, IOP, and outpatient. Dr. Patterson is a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors and currently holds both a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor credential as well. In her free time, she likes to be outdoors, spend time with her dogs, and travel.

Amy Jo Schwarzenbart

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Amy Jo is a board certified licensed family psychiatric/mental health advanced practice nurse. She earned her doctorate degree from the University of South Alabama, Masters of Science in nursing from University of South Alabama and University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, also a Masters of Science in counseling from Drake University. Dr. Amy Jo has experience and addresses the needs of the individuals with mental health conditions through collaboration with other professionals and families.

Dr. Amy Jo empowers the individuals with mental health conditions reach their potential in daily life with the use of coping skills, pharmaceutical therapy, and other therapeutic techniques. Dr. Amy Jo and the collaborative team can assist with the identification of life stressors in the environment or health concerns and develop the tools to face the challenges in daily life. She will listen to the individual’s life story to advocate for the best and optimal treatment for individual and his/her life stressors.

Dr. Amy Jo has experience in the outpatient and inpatient treatment facilities in the areas of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, schizophrenia, sleep disturbance, posttraumatic stress disorder, and substance misuse. Dr. Schwarzenbart is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, and the arts and crafts.

Nicole Aman

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Nicole Aman is a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) across the lifespan with a passion for providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. She earned her doctoral degree from University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and Psychiatric nurse practitioner degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Nicole is double board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.

With experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, Nicole specializes in diagnosing, treating, and managing a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, attention deficit disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders. With a deep commitment to lifelong learning, she stays up to date with the latest advancements. Nicole believes in a holistic and patient-centered approach to care, recognizing the unique needs of each individual. She combines therapeutic communication with psychopharmacological treatments to help patients achieve mental well-being and improved quality of life. Patients describe Nicole as warm, approachable, and easy to talk to.

In addition to clinical practice, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband and one-year-old son, traveling to warm destinations, hiking the Ice Age Trail, and frequenting Door County for day trips. Nicole is dedicated to fostering a supportive, non-judgmental environment for all patients, helping them navigate their mental health journey with empathy and expertise.

Becca is an in-training psychotherapist at N.E.W. Community Clinic. Becca earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, where she completed her clinical experience practicing psychotherapy at N.E.W. Community Clinic. Becca uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy (PCT), Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with individuals and values the importance of having challenging, yet empowering conversations.

Becca has experience in outpatient treatment, working with mood disorders, anxiety, depression, family relationships, and trauma. Becca specializes in child and adolescents, treating ages 4+. Becca believes it is important to reach individuals at a young age to help them identify unfamiliar emotions and develop skills to enhance the ability to cope with life stressors.

Becca believes that each person has their own strengths and guides individuals to recognize them. In her free time, Becca enjoys spending time with her friends and family, being outside in the sun, and staying active.

Erica Soletski

Erica Soletski is an In-Training Psychotherapist with N.E.W Community Clinic. She received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and works with clients ages 13 and up. She has experience working with individuals with depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, ADHD, grief, mood disorders, dual diagnosis, cognitive decline due to age, dementia, and Alzheimer’s. Erica strives to create a comfortable, judgement free, and safe environment for you to identify challenges and develop the skills you need to overcome them. She uses a person-centered approach and tailors therapy to each individual she works with to help you meet your specific treatment goals.

Nhue Vang

Behavioral Health Case Manager

Nhue earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay. She double majored in Psychology and Human development with a Minor in Women and Gender Studies. Nhue is a dedicated and highly passionate professional who has worked in the field of human services for over a decade. She is a compassionate care and case manager who has experiences with working with individuals as well as families at-risk in Brown County. Her journey started with working with at-risk students as an afterschool advocate and mentor. She then moved on to be an advocate for the sexual assault center. Shortly after she committed many years to do home visitations with families at risk and now, she is here at N.E.W. Community Clinic devoting her time and efforts to help individuals and families who are underserved and many who are homeless.

This overall exposure has given Nhue the confidence and skills in working with people of different backgrounds and the understanding to individualize and accommodate people’s needs and wants. It has been a focus working with individuals and families to guide and make sure they have the tools to improve different parts of their lives.

Nhue has helped and worked to get people access to physical health and mental health care and by overall working with individuals by being a strong support system and advocate in providing information and making referrals to other community agencies as needed.

In Nhue’s free time, she loves to sing and duet with her son who is on the Autism spectrum and loves to do crafts with her daughter. Nhue enjoys making memories with family and friends.

Sheli Faust

Psychotherapist

Sheli is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor, as well as a Clinical Supervisor in Training. Sheli has her bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in management and organizational behavior from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, WI, and a master’s degree from Concordia College in Mequon, WI. Sheli specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Substance Use (CBI-SA), as well as Person Centered Therapy (PCT).

She works with clients who are 8 years and older, individual and groups, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD/Trauma/EMDR, AODA issues, gambling, sex offenders, juvenile justice, and jail/prison re-entry.

Previous work experience includes The Healing to Wellness Drug Court for adults and adolescents and Gookomis Endaad residential treatment center in Lac Du Flambeau. Sheli has worked outpatient for Ho Chunk Nation Behavioral Health as well as Oneida Behavioral Health, and on the Behavioral Health Unit within Advocate Aurora Medical Center in Sheboygan.

Kaylee Hintz

Kaylee is an in-training psychotherapist at N.E.W Community Clinic. Kaylee earned her Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. Kaylee works with clients ages 8 and up. Kaylee uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Therapy with individuals. Kaylee values the importance of empathy, dignity and worth of a person, and social justice for members in the community.

Kaylee has experience in residential treatment working with individuals with Depression Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress disorders, Mood Disorders, Dual Diagnosis, and Gender identity/expression. Kaylee also has experience in outpatient treatment with family relationships and case management.

Kaylee believes in the importance of human relationships and utilizing a strengths-based approach. Kaylee strives to pursue social change on behalf of vulnerable and oppressed individuals. In her free time, Kaylee enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending quality time with friends and family.
